Irish property market news and insights – for the industry, by the industry

Before we get stuck into the general property news of the week, below are the local and international stories that might be of particular interest:

  • *Places still available! Summer School 2021 — Architecture at the Edge: The AATE summer school is a design-build program, part of an ongoing outreach, education and research project initiated by Architecture at the Edge, inviting architects and designers to develop their participatory community engagement skills and experience within a rural context.

As always, you might let me know if I have missed out on any relevant property news by emailing

(Apologies in advance for any typos, it’s difficult to get good help on a Sunday. Also, I use voice to text dictation so just sound out anything that really doesn’t make sense in a strong rural accent and that should help!)

  • Firstly, some good news… PLACEengage won the Excellence in Public Sector Services Support Award for 2021 for public consultation and stakeholder engagement in urban planning at the recent Excellence in Business Awards . This award is all the more appreciated given the challenges of engaging with the community on issues of planning over the past year. The virtual town hall really came into its own over the period of Covid-19 restrictions and we are mapping best practice as a result of that experience, with the help of both public and private sector clients, and of course the insights made available through Proptech Ireland (data and immersive technologies). Huge thanks to all the team, our clients and members of the community who made such an effort to positively engage during genuinely difficult circumstances. If your development project needs strategic advice on stakeholder engagement and communications, including messaging, traditional and social media, reach out to the award-winning team at!
